This privacy and cookie policy describes how the Stichting Nederlanders buiten Nederland (SNBN) handles the personal data it collects from its donors and other contacts through this website and other channels.

SNBN is a foundation that operates worldwide. Its board members do not normally reside in the Netherlands. However, SNBN is a foundation under Dutch law and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Therefore, the basis for this policy is the European Union's privacy legislation (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)), which is enshrined in the Dutch General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

Newsletter.
You can subscribe to our newsletter through our website. We ask for your first and last name, email address, and date of birth. We do this because we use this information to send you the newsletter and to correctly process any unsubscribes. Because people sometimes unsubscribe from the newsletter using an email address other than the one they receive it from, we also ask for your name and date of birth in addition to your email address. This makes it easier to process unsubscribes or changes to your email address.

We send our newsletter via the email service provider (ESP) Mailchimp. We are bound by the methods and terms used by Mailchimp.

Contact form.
You can contact SNBN, ask a question, or provide feedback via the contact form. When using the contact form, we ask for your name, email address, and, of course, the comment you wish to leave. This information is sent to SNBN as an email. SNBN uses this data:

To process your comment, answer your question, fulfill your request, or take note of your message.
To compile an overview of the number and types of questions we receive. We do not use your name or email address for this purpose. However, we may use the name of the provider that sent your email (the part after the @), if, for example, they tell us the country from which the comment originated.

When you send the contact form, a cookie is placed.

Donations.
You can make a donation to SNBN via our website. You must provide at least your email address, name, and the amount of your donation. You can also leave your company name, address, and a message. We use Mollie as our payment service provider. Mollie uses the information you provide to process the payment. Mollie's privacy policy applies. Mollie is responsible for processing the data.

We receive a message from Mollie about your donation, either by email and/or via our bank accounts. We use this message to send you a thank-you message – if we have the data required to contact you.

When you send a donation message via Mollie, a cookie is placed.

Disclosure of data to third parties

We will only disclose the data you provide to us to third parties if and to the extent legally required or if and to the extent you have given explicit consent.

Security

We protect our data to prevent unauthorized access by third parties. We do this by, among other things:

After all matters arising from the active relationship with SNBN have been settled, we will retain your data for a maximum of seven years. If you request that your data be deleted sooner, we will do so provided there are no legal or other obstacles.
