Tax treaty negotiations

Ministry of Finance staff regularly negotiate tax treaties with other countries. The Ministry has asked us for feedback on these tax treaty negotiations with various countries. Therefore, we urge all Dutch citizens living outside the Netherlands to:

  • Report any problems you encounter with the (bilateral) tax treaty between the Netherlands and your country.

  • Please state which country you live in and what your general situation is (retired/working, with income from the Netherlands and/or your country of residence, own home or assets in the Netherlands and/or in your country of residence, problems you have already encountered, etc.).

  • Please submit this input to info@snbn.nl by February 14, 2026. We will compile all your responses and forward them to the Ministry of Finance.

MyRNI: Update address and contact details with the Dutch government

It's important that your address and contact information with the Dutch government are correct and up-to-date. Various Dutch (government) organizations use this information to maintain contact with you and to properly provide important (government) services.

What is MyRNI ? MyRNI , a secure and user-friendly web application, allows you to easily check the accuracy of your address and contact details and update them if necessary. Your information is processed in the Non-Residents Register (RNI), part of the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP). The RNI contains personal data of people who no longer live in the Netherlands but still have a relationship with the Dutch government.

Why up-to-date information is important. With up-to-date information, organizations like the Tax and Customs Administration, pension funds, and other agencies can continue to reach you effectively. This way, you can receive important information and payments without any problems, for example, regarding benefits, pensions, benefits, tax matters, or student grants. A correct address also helps you receive official mail, such as ballots, and ensures the smooth processing of matters like inheritances.

Log in with DigiD. To use MyRNI, log in with DigiD. DigiD is your personal login for online government services. Don't have a DigiD yet? On Nederlandwereldwijd (Netherlands Worldwide) , you can find step-by-step instructions on how to apply for a DigiD if you live outside the Netherlands. Later this year, it will also be possible to log in to MyRNI with eIDAS.

Receive automatic reminders. Would you like to receive an annual digital reminder to update your information? Select the National Office for Identity Data (RvIG) in the MyGovernment Message Box and consent to receive digital notifications.

For more information about living, working, studying or living outside the Netherlands, please visit Nederlandwereldwijd.

Without you, there would be no SNBN:
