On Thursday, September 4, 2025 , the Foundation for Dutch Citizens Abroad (SNBN) will celebrate the second edition of the Day of the Dutch Citizens Abroad. This time, we've invited other organizations to help organize it—such as the Foundation for Dutch Education Abroad, Human Rights in Finance, Dutch Students Worldwide, the Goed Foundation, and the Association for the Advocacy of Dutch Pensioners Abroad.
The SNBN launched this special and unique day in 2024, entirely aimed at supporting and promoting the interests of the more than one million Dutch people who live outside the Netherlands .
It's also a day to poll politicians in The Hague and discuss issues such as voting from abroad, retaining Dutch nationality, bank accounts, obtaining AOW (state pension), renewing passports, and Dutch education abroad.
That's why we're organizing the second Day of Dutch People Outside the Netherlands on September 4th in Nieuwspoort, The Hague, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM – right next to the House of Representatives.
You and others from around the world can watch live and ask questions . Details for the livestream will follow! If you happen to be in the Netherlands, you are, of course, welcome to join us at Nieuwspoort. Reservations for in-person participation in The Hague are required ( register using this link ).
Have you already marked September 4th in your calendar?
As you may know, the SNBN runs everything with a small group of volunteers. The Day of the Dutch Citizens Outside the Netherlands is one of the most important and visible events where we have the ear and eye of politicians, especially with the upcoming elections.
The expected costs for organization, venue rental, and audiovisual support at Nieuwspoort are around €13,000. Therefore, we are looking for several sponsors and donors who would like to support this day.
If you are interested in (corporate) sponsoring the day, please send an email to info@snbn.nl .
Your donation makes it possible to represent the interests of Dutch citizens abroad, regardless of where you live. Thank you so much in advance!
On behalf of SNBN,
Eelco Keij, chairman
